History

… is the oldest restaurant in Katowice, in regional “Podhale” style.
Inside its 6 rooms, you can find the atmosphere of ages, historical exhibits, being used to ordinary, daily duties.
You may taste typical dishes typical for mountain and Silesian regions inside XIX-century sleigh, simple caravan, surrounded by flails, scythes and sickles.
Because of the original cuisine and the ambient, “Karcma… “ apart the applause of guests, found appreciation of province department, which awarded a prize of Śląski Znak Jakości three times:
On 2001- “Oscypek” served on hot on plate with Polish cow-berry.
On 2002- Sander fish on crawfish bottleneck
On 2003- Gus in Old Polish style

That kinds of dishes taste the best in company of alive music.
For many times the music of groups from Polish, Bulgarian, Grecian, Tatar or Croatian mountaineers was heard in “Karcma pod Strzechą”.
The owners of the Restaurant say:
Guest has to find his food in best quality, nice served and in quantity to get out satisfied.

HISTORY
“Karcma…”  was established on the19th of September 2001.
Mrs Danuta Hubner - The Commissar of Region’s Politics was one of our most famous guest.
She handed in, together with Polish TVP, first European passport in rooms of “Karcma..”
We hosted the ambassadors, counsels of many countries, people from art and science world.
During our activity we used to share the charitable events, such catering for WOŚP in Jaworzno.
However, what is the most important, is to remind customers of Polish tradition, tradition of our grandfathers, their culture hidden somewhere in their cuisine.
